Chilean visual artist Fiorella Podesta (“Fio”) began experimenting with lines and colors at age seven, inspired by the idea of finding a magic pencil that would enable her to bring her visions to life. She has been painting with oils on canvas, her primary medium, since she was 14. A self-taught artist, Fio incorporates images, colors, and landscapes of South Americas’ indigenous cultures. Her work is characterized by futuristic or otherworldly visions that simultaneously evoke a profound connection with nature and self. Artist Statement I paint using colors and forms to open doors of healing and joy.
